Closing date:

MIF’s Neighbourhood Organiser initiative supported by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation has been designed to enhance our engagement with local communities throughout Greater Manchester. The initiative creates a two-way channel of communication: for MIF to share information and opportunities related to the Festival and The Factory with local residents, and for Greater Manchester communities to let us know what’s important to them and what they want to see from us.

We’re looking for 10 Neighbourhood Organisers to work with us on our journey to The Factory. Register Your Interest

Closing date – 30 January 2022
Interviews – 09 February 2022

This opportunity is all about championing MIF and The Factory, whilst shining a light on the amazing things happening in your local community. You’ll be passionate about the difference arts and culture can make in your neighbourhood, and creating links with a diverse range of people that could benefit from our opportunities. You don’t need to have worked in the arts before, we’re looking for people who are good communicators, enthusiastic and able to work independently.

As a Freelance Neighbourhood Organiser you will work closely with members of MIF’s Creative Engagement team to:
 Build relationships with individuals, organisations and communities in your local area in creative ways both in person and online
 Help us to encourage applications to our jobs, skills and training programmes and projects from a diverse range of people
 Distribute free tickets to people that are new to the Festival
 Host regular meet ups in your area to hear to what’s going on
 Keep your community updated on The Factory and its opportunities
 Recommend local artists and events that you think we should know about
 Facilitate an exchange of knowledge about your community, highlighting what issues are affecting people
 Advise us on how we might develop programmes and campaigns relevant to you and your community

This freelance contract will run from end of February to September 2022 for approximately four days work per month. The fee for the contract is £4200.
