MIF is recruiting for a number of roles to strengthen vital expertise in specific areas. This is to enable the company to successfully deliver a growing year-round programme of activity, as well as the Festival, which next takes place in July 2021. We are also planning for The Factory, the nationally important cultural space, which will be our permanent home. We are working to ensure we are equipped to deliver on The Factory’s promise to bring extraordinary art to the city and to create opportunities for artists and communities across Greater Manchester, including jobs and training. This is investment for the long term and we particularly encourage people living in the region, especially from under-represented groups, to apply.
The Skills & Training Team at MIF has been set up to develop a new programme (The Factory Academy) that trains and develops the workforce of the future in the creative industries, driven by The Factory as a catalyst. Several successful programmes have been piloted working with partner organisations in 2018/2019 and now MIF is looking to become a registered training provider of pre-employment programmes for young people aged 19-24.
The Factory Futures Manager will manage the new pre-employment programme, known as Factory Futures. The programme will engage people from underrepresented groups in Manchester and place them with employers across the sector in training placements, traineeships and paid internships. The Factory Futures Manager will work closely with the Director to ensure that we secure the relevant funding to deliver our programmes, leading our work to become a registered training provider, whilst managing delivery and ensuring robust process and procedures are in place.
Closing date 01 October 2020
Interviews will take place on 08 & 09 October 2020 – These will be held remotely.
Appointment subject to confirmation of funding.
